Karlsson Spools Precision Machining has selected Siveco to run a maintenance improvement project in its factory located in Kunshan, Jiangsu province. The project involves the implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), based on Siveco's streamlined methodology for small-to-mid-size plants.
Karlsson Spools () is a Swedish manufacturer of spools for hydraulic valves with tolerances down to 1µ, for applications in the automotive and hydraulic machinery industries. The Kunshan plant is the largest in the group, with a current capacity of 2.5 million spools per year and employs around 100 people. The production lines include high-precision grinding machines, CNC turning, milling machines, coining, deburring, induction heat treatment and plating. Karlsson Spools is part of the Grimaldi Industri Group, with more than 1,000 employees world-wide and a turnover of 220 MEUR.
According to Thomas Emilsson, Managing Director of Karlsson Spools Precision Machining Kunshan: " We chose Siveco not just for their CMMS software, but mostly for their proven maintenance improvement service capability and successful references in the region, far ahead of other competitors."
Bruno Lhopiteau, General Manager of Siveco China, stated: "Thanks to our experience with large companies operating many small sites in various locations, we have been able to streamline our approach to work on single sites. This methodology has already proven successful in the Jiangsu region, where a lot of small-to-mid-size manufacturers are located. In the coming months, we will take this experience further and encourage such customers to share their experience by running joint workshops in Suzhou area. We are looking forward to this cooperation with Karlsson Spools and other mid-size factories in the region."
