Maintenance 4.0 pioneer Siveco unveiled the latest version of its bluebee® for WeChat solution during the IE expo China 2017 on May 5 in Shanghai. The IE expo is Asia's most influencial exhibition for environmental technology solutions. The release took place in the presence of some of Siveco's largest public sector customers, many of whom immediately tried it out by scanning QR codes with WeChat to create incident reports.
bluebee® for WeChat was first released in September 2016 and has since been implemented for customers running either Coswin 8i or bluebee® cloud. The new version benefits from the latest developments in bluebee® sync that allow extremely robust data synchronization and is fully integrated into the Siveco IoT suite.
According to Bruno Lhopiteau, Managing Director of Siveco China:
"We are pleased to let IE expo visitors to have fun creating their own incident reports by scanning the QR codes set on various equipment at the exhibition. The reason we wanted to let people play with bluebee® the WeChat is that today's market is dominated by "vaporware", great solutions that only exist as demo prototypes, unproven for real-life deployment… In contrast, our bluebee® solutions are already used on a large scale for several years already."
During the Q&A session, Bruno explained:
"bluebee® for WeChat, now in its second generation, allows anyone with access to the facility to use their smartphone to register an incident report into the central database. I am talking about non-CMMS users, just anyone with a phone! In an industry where most CMMS are so user-unfriendly that they require full-time clerks to input data, with work orders printed on paper, this is revolutionary. Several of our clients have already used bluebee® for WeChat for over a year and will immediately benefit from the new release, which is based on the same platform we use to communicate with Connected Objects, also known as IoT. This is what we call Maintenance 4.0!"
About bluebee® for WeChat
With bluebee® for WeChat, any WeChat user (even non-CMMS users) can simply report problems with their phone by quickly scanning the equipment QR code. This favorably replaces traditional methods such as making a phone call to the maintenance department or, for CMMS users, logging into the system to create a work request. This easy-to-use WeChat solution motivates everyone to report incidents and help prevent disasters, in line with industrial best practices such as those of Lean Manufacturing (or TPM).
bluebee® for WeChat allows users to send a Job Request (sometimes called Work Request or Incident Report) directly by scanning the equipment QR code. The simple screen layout allows users to rapidly select or unselect predefined problem codes, to add a photo and input a short problem description. The solution ensures that useful, structured data is sent to the CMMS, in compliance with ISO 14224 – Collection and exchange of reliability and maintenance data for equipment, instead of useless text as too often happens with CMMS solutions.
bluebee® for WeChat is compatible with Siveco's CMMS Coswin 8i and, through bluebee® sync, with any other CMMS. It can also be deployed without a full CMMS, based on bluebee® cloud.
