Siveco, the largest supplier of computerized maintenance management systems in Europe and China's leading maintenance consultancy, has announced an investment in research and development in China. The announcement was made on March 4 by Siveco China's General Manager Bruno Lhopiteau during a major urban transportation event in Wuhan attended by government bodies, leading enterprises in the infrastructure market as well as many equipment manufacturers.

 
Bruno Lhopiteau spoke to Wuhan Number One TV channel after the conference: "I am particularly proud to announce, at a time when many multinationals are taking steps to reduce headcount, that Siveco is accelerating its investment in China by setting up a R&D center. I believe this reflects our success but, more importantly, our long-term commitment to the Chinese market".

 
The newly setup R&D team is dedicated to the development of innovative maintenance solutions for mobile devices. Unlike traditional vendors that merely simplify the original PC screens for use on smaller devices, Siveco has designed truly innovative user interfaces to help technicians get easy access to the technical know-how to support daily decisions such as diagnosis, troubleshooting, etc. This new solution, already used by Siveco's in-house maintenance team on customer projects, will complement the existing COSWIN Mobile offering.

 
As part of this R&D initiative, three maintenance experts are in charge of the overall functional and ergonomical design of the solution, while a software team develops and customize the solution to meet specific customers requirements. Partnerships with both software and hardware vendors have been established to support the delivery of the solution to customers.
