Siveco expands its business in Southeast Asia

2012-10-09
Siveco, China's largest maintenance consultancy, has announced the signing of new deals in the highly competitive Southeast Asian market. Siveco, operating out of its regional base in Shanghai, China, has developed a very successful approach to deliver "export" projects, typically working alongside Chinese engineering firms or major system suppliers in greenfield construction projects. The latest projects are for gas turbine power plants located in Brunei.

Customers in the area include:

Malaysia

Ranhill Powertron II (gas turbine power plant)
Boustead-DCNS (shipyard)
International Paper (packaging)

Singapore

North East MRT Line (metro)
Sengkang LRT (light rail)
Punggol LRT (light rail)
International Paper (packaging)

Indonesia

Bukit Asam (power generation)
International Paper (packaging)

Brunei

Department of Electrical Services (electric power)
Berakas Power Management Company (electric power)

According to Bruno Lhopiteau, General Manager of Siveco China: "The only China-based maintenance consultancy active outside of the country, we benefit from the extensive experience acquired in the Chinese market (we now have over 600 customer sites) as well as from the growing importance of Chinese construction firms in the international markets. Southeast Asia represents a large and mature market, where infrastructure projects and process plants have used computerized maintenance systems (CMMS, sometimes known as "EAM") for more than 10 to 15 years now. Some of the systems have become obsolete and should be replaced, while customers have gained enough experience to make well-informed decisions for new projects: we believe our approach presents a valid alternative to existing solutions provided by large IT companies."

He added: "Siveco will continue to work together with its Chinese engineering partners to provide CMMS embedded into construction projects, but we are now also actively looking to team up with local companies in the various countries, preferably companies with CMMS or maintenance service background, to tackle the CMMS/EAM replacement market and industrial plant projects. Our Value Added Partner Program (VAPP) ensures sales and technical support from our Shanghai office, as well as the deployment of technical resources and maintenance experts with extensive experience of the international markets."
