Siveco China signs power plant project with Turkish EPC
2015-06-02
Siveco China was awarded the CMMS contract for the Boufarik 750MW simple cycle power plant in Algeria, by Turkish construction company GAMA Power Systems (). The contract is for the fast-track implementation of Siveco's CMMS Coswin 8i, with data preparation services. The Siveco China team will work alongside GAMA Power Systems project team to deliver the turnkey CMMS to the end-client in Algeria before plant start-up. Upon completion, the plant will have a significant contribution to energy production in Algeria and provide electricity to more than 1 million homes by improving energy security in the country.
This deal confirms Siveco China's capability to deliver complex CMMS projects and maintenance engineering services in export markets, competing successfully against other international firms. The Boufarik power plant is also the fourth project signed by Siveco China for a client in Algeria. As for the other overseas project delivered by Siveco China, most of the engineering will be done at the Siveco back-office in Shanghai, with regular meetings at the EPC location (in this case in Ankara, Turkey) and final delivery onsite at the plant (Boufarik, Algeria).
Siveco China has gained an unparalleled experience of greenfield projects in the booming Chinese market and has started to export its know-how overseas, with projects in various countries such as Algeria, Brunei, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Sudan, etc. Siveco works either for the EPC (or its appointed subcontractor) or directly for the plant owner.
